Chevy Blazer Trailer Hitch Buyer’s Guide (Canada)

Shopping a trailer hitch for a Chevrolet Blazer in Canada? This guide is about the passenger Blazer SUV that returned for 2019 — not the Camaro-based concept chatter, and not a free pass to reuse every old S10 Blazer part. We also link the older Blazer and S10 Blazer landers we still publish, with CURT SKUs that match each era.

All four videos are from the official CURT YouTube channel (@curtmfg). A dedicated install for CURT 13418 on the passenger Blazer SUV is not on the channel today, so these clips cover hitch selection, install habits, ball mounts, and wiring.

Passenger Blazer SUV versus older Blazer

Chevrolet reused the Blazer name on very different vehicles. The modern passenger Blazer SUV (2019 and newer) is the focus of this guide. Older Blazer and S10 Blazer trucks from the late 1990s and early 2000s use a different Class 3 — CURT 13020 — and their own year landers. Do not mix those eras.

Years What we usually stock
2019–2026 Blazer SUV Class 3: CURT 13418 with a 2 inch receiver. Card ratings typically about 5,000 lb trailer and 750 lb tongue, with weight-distribution figures on the sheet. Excluding Premier on every year of the CURT application list — Premier trims are not covered by this SKU. Wiring: CURT 56325 lists 2019–2025 Blazer among shared GM applications — confirm your year and the other vehicle notes on the card.
Older Blazer and S10 Blazer Class 3: CURT 13020 for listed 1995–2003 Blazer and related Jimmy and S10 Blazer years on the card (typically about 5,000 lb trailer and 500 lb tongue). Wiring: CURT 55411 for listed older Blazer years. These are not substitutes for a 2019-and-newer passenger Blazer.
Lander gaps Modern SUV landers are live for 2019–2026. Older Blazer landers we publish include 1999 and 2001–2003; we do not have a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer lander. S10 Blazer landers run 1999–2004. There is no 2005–2018 Blazer nameplate lander set because that passenger SUV was not in the lineup those years.

Never exceed Chevrolet’s tow rating for your Blazer trim. Premier exclusion on CURT 13418 is a hard stop — if you drive a Premier, do not force this hitch.

Nameplate

Confirm the SUV

A 2019–2026 passenger Blazer is not an S10 Blazer and not a full-size Tahoe. Start on the matching year lander before you open a product card.

Trim

Premier exclusion

CURT 13418 excludes Premier every year on the sheet. If the window sticker says Premier, this is not your hitch.

Wiring

Shared GM harness

56325 also lists Envision, XT5, XT6, and Acadia. That is normal CURT packaging — still verify Blazer on the year list.

Setup

Measure for the ball mount

Blazer ride height varies with trim and tires. Measure drop or rise with the ball-mount drop how-to.
