Chevy Trailblazer Trailer Hitch Buyer’s Guide (Canada)

Shopping a trailer hitch for a modern Chevy Trailblazer SUV in Canada? This page is about the compact Trailblazer that returned for 2021 — not the older mid-size TrailBlazer from the early 2000s. CURT publishes both a Class 3 hitch with a 2 inch receiver and a Class 1 hitch with a 1.25 inch receiver for listed modern Trailblazer years, plus a four-flat wiring card. None of those SKUs are active on our Shopify shelf today, and we do not publish Trailblazer year landers yet. The guide stays honest about those gaps and points you to related Chevy hitch pages we actually carry.

Built for Canadian Trailblazer owners. Free shipping on CURT towing gear from Lots of Parts when the SKU is live on this store. New to hitch shopping? Start with the buying guide, how to choose a hitch, and what hitch class do I need. Prefer the full index? Open the towing guides hub.

Watch these CURT videos first

All four videos are from the official CURT YouTube channel (@curtmfg). CURT also publishes a Trailblazer-specific install film for the Class 3 card on that channel; we only embed videos we have verified as CURT-authored here, so these primers cover selection, technique, wiring, and ball mounts until that install ID is confirmed in our embed set.

If an embed does not load, use the YouTube link under the card.

What CURT publishes versus what we stock

On CURT’s own catalogue, CURT 13584 is the Class 3 hitch written for listed 2021 through 2026 Chevrolet Trailblazer years (and listed Buick Encore GX years on that same card, with a hands-free liftgate exclusion called out for Encore GX). Typical hitch-side numbers sit around 2,000 lb trailer and 200 lb tongue, with a 2 inch receiver. Chevrolet’s published tow and tongue numbers for your powertrain and package still win. That hitch is not listed as an active product on Lots of Parts today.

CURT 11612 is the published Class 1 option for the same modern Trailblazer years, with a 1.25 inch receiver and similar hitch-side trailer and tongue neighbourhood. It is also not listed here.

CURT 56541 is the published four-flat custom wiring harness for listed modern Trailblazer and Encore GX years. It is also missing from this catalogue pass.

CURT’s notes on the Class 3 card call out that it is not compatible with vertical hanging bicycle racks. If you only want a hitch for bikes, read the hitch for bike rack only guide and confirm rack style against the hitch sheet when a Trailblazer hitch lands here.

Modern Trailblazer is not the old TrailBlazer

The early-2000s TrailBlazer was a larger mid-size SUV with a completely different frame and hitch catalogue. This page is only about the compact Trailblazer that returned for model year 2021. We do not publish old TrailBlazer year landers on this site, and we are not going to point you at a random older hitch SKU and pretend it fits. If you drive a 2002 through 2009 TrailBlazer, treat fitment as a separate lookup — do not order a modern 13584 or 11612 hoping it bolts to the old truck.

Until modern Trailblazer hitch and wiring cards land on this shelf, treat this page as shopping help — not a fake “buy the hitch” button. For connector basics while you wait, read the wiring harness guide and the four-pin versus seven-pin guide.
