Chevy Traverse Trailer Hitch Buyer’s Guide (Canada)

Shopping a trailer hitch for a Chevy Traverse in Canada? This guide compares the two Class 3 receivers we stock across generations, links the year landers that are live today, and calls out the fascia work on later installs so a weekend DIY job does not surprise you.

Built for Canadian Traverse owners. Free shipping on CURT towing gear from Lots of Parts. New to hitches? Start with the buying guide, Class 3 versus Class 4, and wiring guide. Platform cousin: Acadia hitch buyer’s guide.

Watch these CURT videos first

All four videos are from the official CURT YouTube channel (@curtmfg). The CURT 13424 install was filmed on a GMC Acadia — the same hitch family covers earlier Traverse years. Later CURT 13433 installs involve fascia work, so the fascia-trim clip belongs here even though a dedicated 13433 Traverse film is not on the channel today.

Traverse years and hitch shopping

Traverse hitch shopping splits cleanly in our store. CURT 13424 covers 2009–2017 Traverse years (shared with Acadia, Enclave, and Outlook notes on the card). CURT 13433 covers 2018–2023 Traverse plus the 2024 Traverse Limited and matching Enclave years.

We publish hitch landers for 2009–2015 and 2017–2023, plus a dedicated 2024 Traverse Limited page. A 2016 lander is not live. The redesigned 2024-and-newer Traverse (non-Limited) is not landered here yet — do not assume CURT 13433 fits that new body.

Years What we usually stock
2018–2023 and 2024 Limited Class 3: CURT 13433 with a two-inch receiver (up to 5,000 lb GTW and 750 lb tongue on the card). Install notes call for fascia and exhaust work — budget time and patience.
2009–2017 Class 3: CURT 13424 with a two-inch receiver. Shared Acadia and Enclave years appear on the same card. Some installs lower the exhaust and remove a fascia panel.
Wiring we stock CURT 56027 for listed 2009–2012 Traverse years. CURT 56245 for listed 2013–2017 Traverse years. Custom harness coverage for 2018-and-newer is thinner — confirm on the year lander.
Brake control CURT 51422 for listed Acadia, Enclave, and Traverse years on the card when you add a brake controller.

Never exceed Chevrolet’s tow rating for your trim, drivetrain, and tow package. Treat the hitch as a ceiling, not a target.

Jump to your Traverse year

No live 2016 lander and no live non-Limited 2024-and-newer Traverse lander. Confirm Limited versus new-generation body style before you buy CURT 13433.

Canada install reality check

Free shipping across Canada from Lots of Parts. CURT 13433 is a fascia job — warm the plastic if it is below freezing, bag every Torx screw, and do not force clips. If a sensor harness or exhaust hanger fights you past the CURT sheet, stop and call a shop. Print the weekend install checklist before Saturday morning.
