Mustang exhaust

MBRP for the MustangPick the steel, then the exit

These are MBRP cat-back, resonator-back, and axle-back systems for the Mustang. Armor Lite is aluminized steel. Armor Plus is T409 stainless. Armor Pro is T304 stainless. Armor BLK is an aluminized system with a black tailpipe and tip. Match the years to your car. A few systems skip a stretch of years, and those years are written out.

Match the exit before you order. Cab and engine are on the product page. Two systems can share a year and still be different exits or tubing sizes.

The four steels

What the series means

The shape of the system follows the vehicle. The series is the metal, and on Armor BLK it is also the finish on the tip.

Value

Armor Lite

Heavy-gauge aluminized steel. It fits the same and sounds the same as the stainless systems. A sound choice in a dry climate, or when you want that sound without paying for stainless.

Salt and slush

Armor Plus

T409 stainless, with the lifetime warranty MBRP puts on this series. It resists rust that goes through the pipe. Road salt can still stain the surface.

Winter truck

Armor Pro

T304 stainless, the toughest of the three, with a lifetime warranty. Pick this one for salt, slush, and a long winter.

Black tip

Armor BLK

Aluminized tubing, with a high-heat black powder coat on the tailpipe and tip. MBRP warrants that black finish for one year. The pipe underneath stays bare metal so it can take stone chips.

Questions

Does a cat-back replace the catalytic converter?

No. A cat-back starts behind the catalytic converter and runs to the tip. A resonator-back starts further back. An axle-back is the section behind the rear axle. Each system says which one it is.

Why so many systems for the same years?

MBRP builds a different system for each exit and tubing size. The exit, the tubing, and the tip are written here. Open the product page and match the rest of your truck before you order.

Which series is louder?

Armor Lite is meant to sound the same as the stainless systems. Armor BLK is the same performance with a black tip. The series is the metal and the finish, not a louder or quieter tune.
