What CURT 11529 is (and is not)
Class 1 is the honest path for a small crossover when CURT’s application points here. Many owners mainly want a bike rack or a very light utility trailer within Hyundai’s rating. A 1.25 inch opening narrows accessory choice compared with the 2 inch Class 3 world — read the receiver size guide and the bike rack and cargo carrier guide before you fall in love with a rack photo.
CURT 11529 is not a Class 3 upgrade, not an EV hitch, and not permission to tow past the Kona’s published numbers. If your trailer needs electric brakes, you still need the brake-controller conversation even on a light tow package — see do I need a brake controller.
