How to Select a Trailer Hitch
Why a crossover often lands on a Class 3 card with a 2 inch receiver even when the door sticker keeps trailer weight modest.
Watch on YouTube →Shopping a trailer hitch for a Lexus RX in Canada? The RX line splits by year and badge, so start with the door sticker. On this store we list CURT 13530 for earlier RX years, CURT 13282 for 2016 through 2020 RX Hybrid and RX450h years on the card, and CURT 13394 for RX-L years that share a Highlander-family hitch. Wiring is live for early years and for some 2020 through 2021 RX cards. Gas RX350 mid-cycle years have an honest catalogue gap — we will say that plainly instead of inventing a cart link.
All four videos are from the official CURT YouTube channel (@curtmfg). Use them for class selection, install habits, wiring basics, and ball-mount height before you dig into the cards below.

Watch on YouTube →General install habits. Finish with the instruction sheet for your exact year card — generations are not interchangeable.
Watch on YouTube →Useful before you order a custom four-flat, or while you wait on a harness we do not stock for your year yet.
Watch on YouTube →Published Class 3 cards here use a 2 inch opening. Match the shank to the tube you actually bolt on, then set drop so the trailer sits level.
Watch on YouTube →CURT 13530 is the Class 3 hitch we list for earlier Lexus RX years on the product card — including RX330-era and early RX350 and RX Hybrid years CURT writes through about 2009. It uses a 2 inch receiver and is in stock today.
CURT 13282 is the Class 3 hitch we list for 2016 through 2020 Lexus RX Hybrid and RX450h years on the card. Same 2 inch receiver idea. If your badge says RX450h or RX Hybrid in that window, this is the live hitch path on Lots of Parts.
CURT 13394 is a Class 3 hitch written for Toyota Highlander years and for Lexus RX-L years 2018 through 2022 on the product card. It is not a blanket RX350 gas hitch. Read the RX-L line carefully so you do not borrow it for a standard-wheelbase gas RX.
For gas RX350 years around 2016 through 2019, CURT publishes Class 3 card 13272 in its catalogue. We do not currently list 13272 on this store. That is an honest gap, not a suggestion to force 13282 onto a gas-only badge.
Wiring we do list: CURT 55563 covers earlier RX years roughly 2004 through 2010 on the card. CURT 56217 covers 2020 through 2021 Lexus RX and RX-L years on the card (it also lists Highlander years). Both harnesses are in stock. Mid-cycle years without a matching harness stay on the wiring guide or support queue — we will not invent a SKU.

These are the Lexus RX-family hitch year pages live today. We are not inventing missing gas RX350 landers. Confirm badge and year on the product card before you buy.
13282 is a hybrid-path card. 13394 is an RX-L path. Gas RX350 mid years still point at the 13272 catalogue gap.
55563 for earlier RX years, 56217 for some 2020 through 2021 RX cards. Years in between may need support help.
13394 and 56217 also touch Highlander years. If you drive a Highlander, open the Highlander hitch guide instead of staying here.
Lexus tow and tongue numbers for your trim still win over hitch-side ratings — especially on hybrid and F Sport notes.
RX350, RX Hybrid, RX450h, and RX-L are not interchangeable on CURT cards.
Use the landers above when they match. Skip inventing URLs for missing years.
Match 13530, 13282, or 13394 to the year list on the product page.
Use 55563 or 56217 when your years match, otherwise ask support.
