How to Select a Trailer Hitch
Why a three-row Mazda crossover usually lands in Class 3 territory once a hitch is actually listed for your year.
Watch on YouTube →Shopping a trailer hitch for a Mazda CX-90 in Canada? CURT publishes a vehicle-specific Class 3 hitch with a 2 inch receiver for listed CX-90 years (shared on that card with listed CX-70 years), but that hitch is not on our Shopify shelf today and we do not publish CX-90 year landers yet. The matching four-flat wiring card is also missing from this catalogue pass. This guide stays honest about those gaps and points you to related Mazda hitch pages we actually carry.
All four videos are from the official CURT YouTube channel (@curtmfg). There is no dedicated CURT CX-90 hitch install on that channel today, so these primers cover selection, technique, wiring, and ball mounts. A CX-9 or CX-50 film is a different vehicle — we do not pretend it fits a CX-90.
If an embed does not load, use the YouTube link under the card.

Watch on YouTube →General install habits. When a CX-90 hitch lands on this shelf, finish with that part’s sheet — not a CX-9 film.
Watch on YouTube →Useful context even though our CX-90 wiring shelf is empty in this pass.
Watch on YouTube →CURT’s published CX-90 Class 3 card uses a 2 inch opening — the common size for ball mounts and many bike racks once a hitch is stocked.
Watch on YouTube →On CURT’s own catalogue, CURT 13627 is the Class 3 hitch written for listed 2024 through 2026 Mazda CX-90 years (and listed CX-70 years on that same card). Typical hitch-side numbers on that family are about 5,000 lb trailer and 500 lb tongue, with a 2 inch receiver, and the card notes weight-distribution compatibility at the same hitch-side numbers. Mazda’s published tow and tongue numbers for your powertrain and package still win. That hitch is not listed as an active product on Lots of Parts today.
CURT 56494 is the published four-flat custom wiring harness for listed CX-70 and CX-90 years. It is also not listed here in this pass.

Lots of Parts already publishes hitch buyer guides for the Mazda CX-9, Mazda CX-50, Mazda CX-5, and Mazda CX-30, with live year landers on several of those lines. Those parts do not silently transfer to a CX-90. Different platform, different CURT application, different SKU. Use the matching guide for the Mazda you actually drive.
Until CURT 13627 (or another verified CX-90 hitch) is an active listing on Lots of Parts, treat this page as shopping help — not a fake “buy the hitch” button. For connector basics while you wait, read the wiring harness guide and the four-pin versus seven-pin guide.
CURT publishes the Class 3 CX-90 hitch. We do not sell it here today. Related Mazda guides below are not a silent claim that those hitches bolt to a CX-90.

Even when a hitch arrives on this shelf, Mazda’s tow and tongue numbers for your trim still win.
CX-9 hitch shopping is live on this store today, with free shipping on CURT gear we actually list. That is not CX-90 fitment.
