Factory hitch vs what we sell

Look under the bumper

Many Tacomas already tow

If you already have a 2" factory receiver, you may only need wiring, a ball mount, and a brake controller harness.

  • Confirm the receiver size and rating sticker
  • Stay under Toyota’s tow rating for your cab / bed / powertrain
What we stock now

Front receiver + wiring

Front mount: CURT 31075 for 2016–2023. Lighting: CURT 56349.

  • Front receivers are for accessories / recovery — not a substitute for a rear tow hitch
  • Need brakes? See the brakes guide

Canada checklist

  • Cab, bed, and engine change Toyota’s tow rating — check the door sticker / manual.
  • Factory hitch first — do not buy a second rear hitch if you already have one that fits.
  • Electric brakes matter once trailer weight climbs — plan the controller early.
  • Salt and mud — clean the receiver and plug after winter or trail use.
