Class 3 or Class 5 on a Tundra?
Class 3 is the lighter one, with a 2-inch receiver and 6,000 lb of trailer. It's plenty for a bike rack, a cargo carrier, a utility trailer or a small boat. Class 5 moves you to a 2-inch receiver and 16,000 lb, which is what you want for a camper, a boat or a loaded equipment trailer. Either way the Tundra's own tow rating in the owner's manual is the ceiling, and the lower number wins.

Wiring, ball mount and the rest

Can I put a bike rack on a Tundra with this hitch?
Yes. The 2-inch receiver takes any 2-inch rack, and a loaded rack counts against the hitch's tongue weight (1,200 lb on CURT 14022), so a four-bike platform rack with bikes on it is well inside the limit.
Can I install the hitch myself?
