How we run a first-tow systems check
Walk the trailer before it moves. Confirm the coupler is locked on the ball, the latch pin is in, safety chains are crossed, the hitch pin and clip are seated, and lights prove on the vehicle and trailer. Check cold tire pressures on both vehicles. If you have a brake controller, do a low-speed brake tug in the yard. Keep the first kilometres quiet and boring on purpose. Stop for heat, sway, dragging chains, or dark lamps instead of negotiating with them at highway speed.
