Edge years and hitch shopping

Current Edge hitch shopping centers on two Class 3 receivers for 2015 through 2024. CURT 13452 is the concealed Class 3 path with a higher card rating and shared Lincoln fitment. CURT 13234 is an exposed Class 3 alternative on the same years. Earlier Edges from 2007 through 2014 use CURT 13067 for Class 3, with CURT 12036 as a Class 2 option that excludes EcoBoost. Ford ended Edge production after 2024, and we do not publish later Edge landers.

Years What we usually stock
2015–2024 Class 3 concealed: CURT 13452 with a two-inch receiver (up to 4,500 lb GTW and 675 lb tongue on the card). Shared MKX and Nautilus years appear on the card. Class 3 exposed alternative: CURT 13234 (up to 4,000 lb GTW and 600 lb tongue). Wiring: CURT 56436 for 2019–2024 SE and SEL, plus CURT 56272 for 2015–2018 SE and SEL.
2007–2014 Class 3: CURT 13067 with a two-inch receiver (up to 4,000 lb GTW and 400 lb tongue). Class 2: CURT 12036 with a 1.25 inch receiver — EcoBoost is excluded on that card. Wiring: CURT 56120 for 2011–2014.
After 2024 No Edge lander after 2024. Production ended, so do not invent a later SKU from Escape or Explorer alone.

Never exceed Ford’s tow rating for your trim, engine, and tow package. Treat the hitch as a ceiling, not a target.

Earlier generation

CURT 13067 and CURT 12036

For 2007–2014 Edge, start with Class 3 CURT 13067. The Class 2 CURT 12036 path excludes EcoBoost.

  • EcoBoost exclusion is real — do not force 12036
  • Prefer Class 3 for common two-inch mounts
  • Confirm MKX shared years only when listed
Honest limits

Trim and engine notes

Custom Edge wiring we stock for later years is SE and SEL. Other trims may need a different lights path. Ford’s tow rating still wins over any hitch brochure.

  • Wiring is trim-limited on later SKUs
  • EcoBoost is excluded on CURT 12036
  • No post-2024 Edge lander

Step 2Match the CURT SKU

Prefer CURT 13452 or CURT 13234 for 2015-and-newer, or CURT 13067 for earlier Edges.

Step 3Respect Ford’s limit

Read the door sticker and owner’s manual before you size a trailer or cargo carrier.

Step 4Add lights and a ball mount

Use the wiring guide and the ball mount guide.

Canada checklist

  • Believe Ford’s tow rating for your Edge trim and engine — it beats any hitch brochure.
  • EcoBoost exclusion matters on CURT 12036 — do not order that Class 2 for EcoBoost.
  • Later wiring is SE and SEL on CURT 56436 and CURT 56272 — other trims may need support help.
  • Plan for salt season — rinse the open-back receiver and protect the wiring plug when you can.
