CURT 12036 is a Class 2 hitch with a 1-1/4 inch receiver, rated to 3,500 lb gross trailer weight and 350 lb tongue weight, $216.63 CAD. It doesn't fit the Ecoboost trim. Both ship free anywhere in Canada.
Trailer lights are a plug-in job on this one. CURT 56120 is the four-flat plug harness for the 2012 Ford Edge, $111.43 CAD, and it clicks into the factory connector so you're not splicing wires behind the bumper.

Which trailer hitch fits a 2012 Ford Edge?
CURT 13067 (Class 3, 2-inch receiver, 4,000 lb) and CURT 12036 (Class 2, 1-1/4 inch receiver, 3,500 lb) both fit. Pick the class that covers your trailer with room to spare, then check the fit table on the product page for your build.
How much can a 2012 Ford Edge tow with this hitch?
The hitch is rated to 4,000 lb gross trailer weight and 400 lb tongue weight. Your Edge has its own tow rating in the owner's manual, and the lower number is your limit. A loaded bike rack counts against tongue weight too.
Do I need a wiring harness for the 2012 Ford Edge?
If a trailer is going on, yes. Brake and turn signals have to work, and CURT 56120 plugs into the factory connector so the trailer lights follow the Edge's. Order it with the hitch and it's one install.
