Rogue years and hitch shopping

Rogue hitch shopping splits cleanly by generation. Earlier 2008 through 2020 trucks lean on CURT 13204 Class 3, with Krom excluded on the card and Rogue Select listed for 2014 and 2015. Newer 2021-and-later Rogues move to CURT 13471 Class 3 for trailers and common two-inch accessories, while CURT 12202 Class 2 covers lighter racks when you do not need a two-inch receiver.

Compact crossovers like the Rogue often tow less than the hitch brochure. Size the trailer to Nissan’s published limit first, then pick Class 2 or Class 3 to match the work.

  • Believe Nissan’s tow rating for your trim and package — it beats any hitch brochure.
  • Krom matters on CURT 13204 — do not force that SKU onto an excluded Krom Rogue.
  • Generation matters — 2021-and-newer Rogues use different CURT numbers than 2008–2020.
  • Plan for salt season — rinse the open-back receiver and protect the wiring plug when you can.
