Where aluminum helps

Frequent on-and-off use is the main reason to choose aluminum. The lighter shank is easier to carry to a fourth-floor locker. Capacity still has to cover the trailer. Do not buy aluminum only because it looks nicer in the tube.

Care

Avoid galvanic surprises by following the product hardware guidance. Rinse salt. Inspect the ball hole and pin holes for elongation. Torque the ball nut to spec the same way you would on steel.
