Sequoia years and hitch shopping

Walk outside first. Plenty of Sequoias already wear a factory two-inch receiver. If you see one, confirm the door-jamb tow rating, then shop a ball mount, wiring, and a brake controller instead of assuming you need another rear hitch.

Our live year landers cover 2008 through 2021. First-generation 2001–2007 Sequoia landers are not published yet, and the redesigned 2023-and-newer Sequoia is not landered here either. On the shelf today, the Sequoia-tagged CURT hitch we stock is the front receiver path, not a rear Class 3 replacement for every year.

Never exceed Toyota’s tow rating for your trim, axle, and tow package. A hitch number on a box is not permission to out-tow the Sequoia.

Factory hitch checklist before you buy

Confirm whether a factory two-inch receiver is already there and whether it is rusted, bent, or missing a pin hole.

Step 2Read the door sticker

Toyota’s tow rating and any tow-package notes beat any aftermarket brochure number.

Step 3Open your year lander

Use the 2008–2021 pages above. If your year is missing, do not force a wrong SKU.

Step 4Finish the system

Ball mount, wiring, and brake control often matter more than chasing a second rear hitch.
