CURT writes vehicle-specific hitch cards around a measured rear structure. When a card says excluding dual exhaust, excluding models with dual exhaust, or without center exhaust, the engineers are telling you the welded shape was validated on a single-side or dual-outboard layout that leaves room for the cross-tube. A center-exit tip under the bumper valence, or a dual system that occupies the space the hitch needs, can put steel against pipe.
That is why the note is an exclusion, not a suggestion. If your car has a center tip and the card says without center exhaust, that SKU is the wrong path even if the year and model name match. The same rule applies when a Cruze or Verano card excludes dual exhaust models.
How to read the product notes without guessing
