Hook to the points the gooseneck kit provides or to rated frame points — not to random bed stake pockets. Arrange chains so a dropped tongue is cradled without binding on a sharp turn.
Inspection
Replace stretched links and damaged grab hooks. Rinse salt. A chain that has seen a real separation event deserves replacement even if it looks mostly fine.
