Some hitch installs need a clean fascia trim so the receiver can pass through the bumper cover. Cut only what the CURT template calls for, and confirm your year uses that template before you touch a knife.

Template first

CURT instructions often include a paper or digital trim template. Tape it carefully, double-check left-right orientation, and cut in small passes. Invisible or under-car hitches may avoid trim entirely — check the product page.

After the cut

Deburr plastic edges so they do not saw on the receiver. Reinstall fascia clips fully. If the exhaust or impact bar had to move, torque those fasteners before you call the job done. Re-check hitch bolts after the first trip.
