Some couplers include a grease fitting so you can service the socket without digging out old grease by hand. Use the right grease gun tip and stop when you feel resistance.

Using the zerk
Wipe the fitting clean. Pump slowly until fresh grease appears or the instructions say stop. Clean the overflow so it does not collect highway grit.
If it will not take grease
The passage may be clogged or the fitting damaged. Do not explode the socket with pressure. Service or replace the coupler hardware instead.
