When to grease
At the start of the season and after muddy trips. Too much grease throws grit. A thin, even coat on the ball and socket is enough for most utility trailers.
Watch wear
Flat spots in the socket or a loose latch mean parts, not more grease. Match ball diameter before you lubricate a mismatch.
