Trailer wiring
Most trailer light problems split into vehicle-side versus trailer-side faults. Test the plug on the truck first, then walk the trailer harness, grounds, and lamps.

Vehicle side first
Use a four-way or seven-way tester at the vehicle plug with the lights switched on. If the truck plug is dark, chase fuses, harness grounds, and the CURT module before you open trailer lamps.
Trailer side
If the truck plug is healthy, check the trailer plug for corrosion, then grounds at the frame, then individual lamps. Magnetic temporary lights get you home when a harness is damaged mid-trip.
