Honda Accord Trailer Hitch Buyer’s Guide (Canada)

Shopping a trailer hitch for a Honda Accord in Canada? Start with the year on the door sticker, then decide whether you have a sedan, a coupe from the mid-teens, a Crosstour, or a hybrid before you open a CURT Class 1 card. We stock CURT 11290 for listed 1998 through 2007 Accord years, CURT 11681 for listed 2013 through 2017 Accord years, and CURT 11525 for listed 2018 through 2022 Accord years excluding hybrid. Crosstour owners open CURT 11002 instead of the sedan cards. Dedicated wiring is listed for some windows and thin on others, so we say the gaps out loud.

Which CURT hitch fits your Honda Accord

Read the year and powertrain notes on the door sticker first. Early Accords in the listed 1998 through 2007 window open CURT 11290. The mid-generation sedan shelf jumps to CURT 11681 for listed 2013 through 2017 years. Later Accords in the listed 2018 through 2022 window open CURT 11525, which excludes hybrid. Crosstour is a different body and opens CURT 11002. All four hitch cards use a one and one quarter inch receiver tube, so match bike racks, pins, and covers to that size unless the accessory card lists both tube sizes.

Wiring that actually lists the Accord

CURT 55336 covers early Accord years listed on that harness card along with other Honda family vehicles. CURT 56299 is the 2016 through 2017 Accord sedan path without LED tail lights. CURT 56301 is the coupe harness for the same window and is a clearance item. CURT 56402 covers listed 2018 through 2022 Accord sedan years. Mid-2000s and early-2010s sedan wiring is thinner on this shelf, so we will not invent a harness.

Parts-counter notes before you click buy

Topic What we tell shoppers
Class 1 reality These are light-duty Class 1 hitches. Many Accord owners use them for a bike rack or a small utility trailer. Do not invent a Class 3 truck hitch for this sedan.
Hybrid exclusion 11525 excludes hybrid. Do not force a hybrid onto that later-year card.
2008 through 2012 sedan gap We do not publish sedan year landers for 2008, 2009, or 2012 on this list, and we are not inventing an in-stock sedan hitch SKU for that window.
Crosstour versus sedan Crosstour opens 11002. Sedan cards are not interchangeable with Crosstour.
Coupe versus sedan wiring 56299 is sedan without LED. 56301 is coupe. Match body style before you order wiring.
Receiver size One and one quarter inch tube. Match pins, locks, covers, and rack shanks to that size.
Door sticker Hitch class is not the Honda tow limit. Read the door sticker before you load tongue weight.
Civic kept separate Civic has its own buyer guide with center-exhaust notes. Do not stretch Civic cards onto an Accord.
Later 2023-and-up We do not invent a later Accord hitch or lander that is not on this list.

How to order without second-guessing

Step 1Match year and body

Sedan, coupe, Crosstour, or hybrid. The door sticker year decides the card window.

11290, 11681, 11525, or Crosstour 11002. Confirm exclusions on the live card.

Step 3Add wiring only when listed

55336, 56299, 56301, or 56402 when the harness card lists your year and body.

Step 4Match the tube

One and one quarter inch receiver. Size the rack shank, pin, and cover to that tube.
