Round bar versus trunnion

Round bars are common everyday kits. Trunnion bars can help when clearance or capacity calls for that design. Both need the correct tongue-weight class. Guessing high and over-cranking the bars is not a setup method.

Care

Grease only where the instructions allow. Keep chains or brackets from binding. Recheck bar tension after the first tank of water. Replace a bar that is bent, deeply rusted, or cracked — do not straighten it in a press and reuse it.
